Rate Changes Effective January 2024

To keep up with the rising costs of purchased power from Bonneville Power Administration, inflation, and critical investments into system reliability Lane Electric will be implementing a $5.50 rate increase to the Basic Charge in 2024.

We understand the economic challenges that our members face. The reality is that since our last rate increase, Lane Electric’s costs, like many of yours, have increased. We will continue working to control costs by operating safely and efficiently to provide reliable electric service. With this in mind, and after much consideration by the Board of Directors, an increase to the Basic Charge (a fixed cost) versus per kilowatt hour (a usage cost) was chosen to provide more financial predictability.

Effective on bills received in January 2024 the rate schedule for residential service, compared to 2023, is below:

2024 Rates

General Service Single-Phase

Schedule GS-1

Applicable to all Lane Electric Cooperative consumers requiring underground or overhead single-phase electric service; subject to the established rules and regulations of Lane Electric.

To assure service quality, the capacity of single-phase motors served under this schedule cannot exceed 7½ horsepower.


General Service Single-Phase Commercial

Schedule GS-1C

Applicable to all Lane Electric Cooperative members requiring underground or overhead single-phase commercial electric service for uses at nominal service voltages of 120/240 volts; subject to the established rules and regulations of Lane Electric.

To assure service quality, the capacity of single-phase motors served under this schedule cannot exceed 7½ horsepower.


General Service Three-Phase

Schedule GS-3

Applicable to all Lane Electric Cooperative consumers requiring three-phase service; subject to the established rules and regulations of Lane Electric.


Remote Site Service

Schedule RS-1

Applicable to all Lane Electric Cooperative members requiring underground or overhead single-phase electric service to a remote site which meets all the following criteria: 1) not readily accessible year-round, 2) not a domicile or regularly occupied, 3) uses less than 70,000 kWhs per year, and 4) not subject to a specific service contract. To assure service quality, the capacity of single-phase motors served under this schedule cannot exceed 7½ horsepower.


Irrigation Service

Schedule IS-5

Applicable to all Lane Electric Cooperative consumers for separately metered service to be used solely for irrigation pumping from April through October, inclusive; subject to the established rules and regulations of Lane Electric.


Yard Lights

Schedule L-1

Applicable to permanent residential, farm or commercial customers of Lane Electric Cooperative.


Member-Owned Street Lighting Service

Schedule L-2

System type and design must be approved by Lane Electric Cooperative (LEC).


Street Lighting Service

Schedule SL-3

Applicable to incorporated towns, villages, and other governmental agencies for street and highway lighting requiring multiple lighting units.


Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Schedule EV-1

Applicable to all Lane Electric Cooperative consumers requiring three-phase service for electric vehicle charging stations; subject to the established rules and regulations of Lane Electric.
