Employment Opportunities

About Lane Electric Cooperative

Enjoy the benefits of ‘the cooperative way’ while we work together to serve Lane Electric’s roughly 10,500 electric accounts. The cooperative works to “power rural communities through exceptional service and sustainable energy sources.”

Established in 1939 by a group of neighbors in the McKenzie River valley, Lane Electric and its roughly 45 employees are still actively engaged in the communities we serve. We support youth sports, literacy programs, health and nutrition initiatives, Veteran’s groups, holiday parades and the area’s many cultural events and festivals.

Lane County extends from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Range, with a relatively mild climate but four distinct seasons. Ocean coastlines, forests, and snow-‐peaked mountains provide diverse opportunities for year-round recreational and cultural opportunities. The area is serviced by the Eugene Airport, the fifth largest airport in the Pacific Northwest, which provides easy access in and out of the area.

Lane Electric Cooperative serves a number of rural communities outside of the Eugene metropolitan area. Our headquarters, however, are located with-in Eugene city limits. Eugene is Oregon’s third largest city. The wood products industry, a “Silicon Shire” tech industry, rural agriculture and the University of Oregon are the areas primary economic drivers.

The Lane County Farmer’s Market and a thriving food, microbrewery, and winery culture provide great dining and recreational experiences. Extensive biking, walking, and hiking trails weave throughout the city of Eugene and Lane County. The U of O’s Museum of Natural and Cultural History, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and the Hult Center for the Performing Arts provide a remarkable cultural hub.

Lane Electric and the Eugene area are moving in a positive direction and now is a great time to become part of the Lane Electric team and legacy.

Plus, we have some great benefits:

  • 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday)
  • Employer-sponsored medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Sick leave and paid time off
