Lane Electric Scholarship Applications

Lane Electric Cooperative offers several scholarships to members of all ages, from high school seniors to adults who desire a change in career or continuing education. Below are details about each offering, along with applications available for download. Please pay close attention to application deadlines.

Graduating Senior

Overview:  Lane Electric is offering one $4,500 scholarship for a Graduating Senior interested in attending Lane Community College (LCC) in the fall. Graduating Senior scholarships are available to dependents of qualifying Lane Electric members.

This application applies to Graduating Seniors who are interested in continuing their education at Lane Community College.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Member At-Large

Overview:  Lane Electric is offering one $4,500 scholarship for persons interested in attending Lane Community College (LCC) in the fall. The At-Large scholarship is available to qualifying Lane Electric members.

This application applies to all members in good standing who are interested in continuing their education at Lane Community College.

For this scholarship, a Member At-Large is defined as: A Lane Electric member with an active account, and in good standing with the cooperative, who plans to attend Lane Community College. The spirit and intent of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity for eligible Lane Electric members who have been in the workplace for a period of time; members whose jobs have ended; members interested in changing careers; or for parents who have raised their children and are now ready to begin a college career, etc.

College of Your Choice

Overview:  Lane Electric is offering four $1,500 “College of Your Choice” scholarships for persons interested in attending any accredited 2-year or 4-year college in the fall. These “College of Your Choice” scholarships are available to dependents of qualifying and/or qualifying Lane Electric members.

This application applies to qualifying members and/or their family members who are interested in continuing their education at a 2-year or 4-year accredited college this fall.

For this scholarship, a Qualifying Member or Family Member is defined as: A Lane Electric member, or dependent of a member, who has an active account, and is in good standing with Lane Electric, who plans to attend an accredited 2-year or 4-year college in the fall. The spirit and intent of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity for eligible Lane Electric members, or their dependents, who are interested in beginning a college career.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

VOLTA (Vocational Outdoor Line Training Academy)

Background:  Lane Electric is offering a $5,500 scholarship to persons interested in the VOLTA training program. (Read more about VOLTA here.) The line construction trade offers a rewarding career with exceptional pay and benefits, and Lane Electric’s desire is to develop a qualified pool of candidates for future positions in the electric utility industry.

Program: Lane Electric’s VOLTA scholarship program is available for members and /or applicants whose parent or guardian are active members, in good standing, with Lane Electric. Applicants must be a at least 18 years old, at the time of enrollment in the VOLTA program, and be a high school graduate by summer of 2019 or hold a GED.
