Opportunities to Engage
Dear Co-op Community Members:
As you know, Lane Electric is a member-owned cooperative. We work for and are governed by you, our nearly 11,000 members. This month, I wanted to take a moment and highlight a few ways members can directly engage with—and help shape the direction of—the cooperative.
In addition to reaching out directly, members can interact with cooperative leadership by attending monthly board meetings, yearly district meetings and voting in elections. The dates for those meetings are:
- Board meetings: The 4th Wednesday of the month, unless there is a holiday. Check the calendar on our Events page.
- District meetings: April 20, April 24, May 1, May 9, and May 11 (locations TBD).
- Annual meeting: May 24 at Lane Electric’s headquarters.
I also want to note that Lane Electric is governed by directors who live throughout the service area and are elected to the board by the membership for three-year terms. Directors approve strategic plans, general operating policies, rates and the annual operating budget.
Soon, we will share more about the direction of the cooperative in 2023, and the vision set by leadership. That includes system improvements, community engagements and scholarship opportunities.
