Do you love to travel? Are you interested in U.S. history or government? Are you a junior in high school? If you said, yes to these questions, Lane Electric has an amazing once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you!

Lane Electric will cover all expenses for one lucky high school junior to attend the 2020 National Rural Electric Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., June 19-25.

Students will visit many of our nation’s historic sites: the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, and Ford’s Theatre among others. For sports fans, you will get an opportunity to watch this year’s World Series Champions, the Washington Nationals! For the museum lovers, you will visit the International Spy Museum, Holocaust Museum and the Smithsonian Museums. The itinerary is packed with something for everyone.

During Youth Tour, you also will learn about the rich political history of rural electric co-ops in our nation and visit the memorial to Franklin D. Roosevelt, the creator of the Rural Electrification Administration in 1935.

Students will learn about current issues facing rural America with their congressional representatives and visit the Capitol.

Are you ready for this amazing opportunity? You must be a high school junior and your parents, or guardians, must be Lane Electric members. Students can- not be immediate family members of an employee or director of Lane Electric. The deadline to apply is Thursday, January 23, by 1 p.m.
