Matt Michel announces resignation as General Manager

EUGENE, OR – Lane Electric Cooperative General Manager Matt Michel announced today, January 14, 2019, that he would resign his position to spend more time with family and pursue other opportunities.

“It has been a privilege and my honor to serve Lane Electric Co-op members over the last four years,” says Michel. “Working with the dedicated employees at Lane Electric has been inspiring, and partnering with the Board of Directors to serve our communities was a very rewarding experience.”

Michel was hired as General Manager of Lane Electric Cooperative in October 2014. Previously, he served Canby Utility in Canby, Oregon for six years, including four as General Manager.

“We thank Matt for his service to Lane Electric and wish him the very best,” says Lane Electric Board President Susan Knudsen Obermeyer. “Pursuant to the Co-op’s succession policy, Debi Wilson, Manager of Finance & Administration, will serve as Acting General Manager during the search for Matt’s permanent successor. Debi is a 20-year management employee of Lane Electric, and the Board has every confidence in her ability to guide the Co-op through the transition.”

The Board will announce the search and selection process for General Manager at a later date.
