Description


The term of office for one director in the Central District, one director in the McKenzie District and one director in the Oakridge District on Lane Electric’s board of directors will expire on June 22, 2020. The Nominating Committee is accepting applications from members who have an interest in their communities and feel a civic responsibility to their neighbors. The committee will develop a strong slate of candidates that will be presented to the members in an election in May. Directors are elected to three-year terms and must live in the district in which they apply. The incumbent director will be seeking reelection. Interested members may apply via the Position Filing process or the Petition Filing process.
Because Lane Electric Cooperative is a corporation, directors have the same basic duties and responsibilities as a director or officer of any other public or private corporation during their three-year term. Primary duties include setting policy, approving budgets, contractual considerations, working with the general manager, and monitoring the operations of the Cooperative.
