Description

To Lane Electric members in the Blue River area:

As you may know, Lane Electric has been coordinating overnight power outages with the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) so BPA can replace wood poles on its Cougar-Thurston 115-kV transmission line. That line is an important part of the electric transmission network that serves Blue River and the surrounding area.

BPA and Lane Electric will need to schedule one to two overnight outages in each of the next several years to complete the project. These scheduled outages will help avoid costlier and longer unplanned outages due to failed equipment.

You are invited to a public meeting on Wednesday, December 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McKenzie High School’s new gym (51187 Blue River Dr, Vida, OR).

The meeting will feature three identical sessions, one at 4:00, the second at 4:45, and the third at 5:30 p.m. You can attend whichever session works best for your schedule. Each session will include a brief presentation followed by a question and answer session with:

Matt Michel – General Manager, Lane Electric Cooperative
Dale Coulombe – Eugene District Manager, BPA
Meadow Nelson – Project Manager, BPA

Your attendance at this meeting, and your input, matters. Lane Electric and BPA are working diligently to listen to up-river residents and business owners and to keep you apprised of what is going on. This discussion will help us determine how the McKenzie community, BPA, and Lane Electric can work together to reduce the impacts of future planned outages. You will also hear about progress on the project to date and plans moving forward.

We hope you can attend, and we thank you for participating in our continuing efforts to provide safe, reliable and economical electric service to you.

Sincerely,

Matt Michel
General Manager
