Get a no-interest loan for a back-up generator

Generator partLane Electric is committed to delivering safe and reliable energy to its members. However, power outages can occur, and a major event such as a severe winter storm, earthquake or wildfire could disrupt utility services for an extended period.

Lane Electric members can now take advantage of 0% financing to help with the purchase of a back-up generator system. We currently offer these loans for Weatherization and Heat Pump projects and are glad to be able to give members an interest free option that will ensure their safety and comfort during interruptions in power supply.

With approval from Pacific Cascade Federal Credit Union, members will be able to borrow up to $9,000 and have up to 5 years to pay back the funds interest free. The installation of a permanently installed standby system, a transfer switch or Generlink collar are eligible through this program. Since portable generators are easily moved, they are not eligible for financing.

To participate in our Generator Financing Program, the following requirements must be met:

  • The applicant must be a Lane Electric member in good standing.
  • Loan applications must have approval from PCFCU.
  • The applicant must be the owner of the property.
  • The installation must be permitted and pass inspection by local jurisdiction.

For safety reasons, we recommend that a licensed electrician perform the installation.
